Reflections on the Handmaiden

From: The Handmaiden - A Little Golden Book
by Chiara D'Ambrosio [ArtStation]

A strange occasion for a spiritual reflection arose when I was watching Park Chan-wook's The Handmaiden. The reason for it is this: that Sookhee and Hideko's sexual liberation is earmarked, more than anything else in the movie, by the women wrecking the uncle's library of smut — furiously, and then triumphantly.

On an unrelated note, I felt that I have regained a capacity to forgive. People like to say Allah is great. I find He is also quite odd sometimes
